| The Valhalla Pure Outfitters Nanaimo Paddlesfest & Pledge Drive is a premier summer dragon boat event in June that started in 2003. The event takes place in the beautiful Nanaimo Harbour at Maffeo Sutton Park and Pioneer Plaza. |
This popular event is hosted by the Nanaimo Paddling Centre and has enjoyed tremendous success and received rave reviews from participating crews and the media. Each year around 36 dragon boat teams participate in a memorable day of racing and celebration. This is a chance for local and Vancouver Island teams to come together for a quality racing opportunity and to practice for the Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival.
Each year this event teams up with the Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation (NDHF) to help fight Breast Cancer right here in Nanaimo. Since 2005, the event has raised $80,000 for the the NDHF!
